I finished the hat but it ended up being way to big. Even with a gauge swatch!! So I gave it to my stepdad because it actually fit him. I guess he just has a huge head.

I started making the wristbands for my circle of friends to give before the end of the year I have to make 9. I'm on the third one as we speak. After I knit them then I'll stitch "TLRK" on them =) The main members get different colors but everyone else gets the red yarn because I have 3 skeins of it to burn. I made up as I went along. I really like how the practice band turned out. Im gonna sport it all around town! I don't see why people do them length wise if theres no intarsia on them... its much easier to do them and size them if you go width wise. But thats just me.

I obtained the latest copies of Vogue Knitting and Knit Simple [I'm still in search of Knit 1]. I'm completely and utterly obsessed with Vogue Knitting. It inspired me to learn the basics of crochet as well just so I can knit some of the things in the issue [... THE CORSET!!!!!!] However instead of plastic boning I'm going to substitue that with metal boning because I believe in metal boned corsets. I don't wear them for fashion. They had a crap load of cute stuff. Knit simple had a few patterns I liked too. I CAN'T WAIT FOR THE NEW ISSUE OF KNITTY TO COME OUT DAMMIT!

Today I went to Michaels [I really need to stop going there. I'm broke]. And picked up some DK weight black yarn for my boyfriend's birthday present. I'm knitting him Oh My Star's cheats' fingerless gloves =) Because he lost his and I really want to knit him something. I got Lion Brand's microspun yarn. It's suppperrr soft =D Pictures later? Sorry =X

So I've gotten pretty far in my hat [I still really want to get it done by the time school starts again]. It sucks though cause I found a dropped stitch a ways down and I don't want to frog it. So I'm gonng wait till I can get the right crochet hook to fix it. You can sorta spot it in the picture if your eyes aregood.

I finally joined craftster... I can't wait till I can participate in a swap! It'll be a blast.

After I finish the hat I'm going to work on wrist cuffs for my social circle. I'm going to use the yarn I got at Michaels that was on sale that I mentioned in an earlier post. Since there is like 4 colors they can choose the color they want. Then I'll go back and use the duplicate stitch to put "TLRK" onto it in white or black depending on the yarn they chose.

This week I'm also going to go pick up the latest Vogue Knitting magazine and maybe Knit.1. I want to talk my mom into taking me to get a Stich 'n' Bitch Nation book. ::Sigh:: I love knitting.

I haven't had very much time to do any knitting in the past few days, but it's spring break now! So I'm going to be playing catch up. I really want to finish the matching hat to my scarf that I started. Making my first clothing piece is much harder than I anticipated. >_< Happy Knitting during spring break everybody!

OHHH and I got a pin at Red Light that says KNIT TILL YOU DIE. It's awesome.

So I've spent the past week working on my scarf and I finished it tonight. The fringe seemed to take forever. But now its done in all its glory =))

I didn't mention it in my last post I don't think but when I went to Michael's to get some new needles there was a small sale on premium yarns so I bought six skeins of Jewel Box yarn in 3 different colors. I'm probably going to make wrist bands with them.

My Mary Maxim needle set came in the mail today so now I own needle sizes 1-11 =) Next Im going to work on getting a circular needle set and a set of a couple sizes of DPNs. Im gonna work on a matching hat to go with my scarf for now, mostly to get a hang of increase and decrease. I don't intend to wear it, because I doubt it'll be anything worth wearing =P But it's worth the practice. Maybe later in life I'll take a picture of my newest yarn and my needle set. Ciao.

I've been really busy on my new scarf its about 53 inches right now and I wanna get it to 84, but I still gotta weave my ends in and add some fringe at the bottom. It's sooo soft! I've been working on it for about 4 days. Happy knitting. Genny is also working on a red scarf =) She's working with size 8 needles so its taking her a lot longer to get length, but hers is also coming out a lot nicer than mine. When I went bowling today everyone was surprised that I was knitting and kept complimenting how nice it looked for a first project, but how do I know they know what they are talking about? haha. Good times.

So I've been a busy bee. I've gone through all the basics of knitting. Eventually I plan to convert to continental knitting, and learn how to cable, intarsia, knitting in the round and double knitting. When my needle set comes in the mail I'll finally be able to start my first project which is the scarf [I think I mentioned that already]. It's exciting. Lots of plans have been boiling up in the past month or so in the means of knitting!!!

Besides the crapload of personal projects I intend to knit for myself, I fully intend to use my knitting knowledge for the good of humanity. For gifts for my friends and family as well as charity knitting [which I've mentioned already]. I also plan to join a few knitalongs in the future so I can have some fun with the knitting community making cool stuff [and if I get stuck I can ask everyone else whos knitting the same thing!] Also, in the distant future me and my now knitting buddies [Sarah, Tara and Genevieve] are going to start making our own patterns and selling our stuff online. We'll probably end up selling both patterns and actual unique knitted projects at relatively affordable prices and of every size for every type of person. We will call that project QUARANTINE.

My yarn is lonely. Just sitting there unused. I hope my needle set comes soon.

So not only did I learn the methods of increasing and decreasing; but I also learned all the basic stitch patterns including: garter, stockinette, reverse stockinette, knit 2 purl 2 and knit 1 purl 2.

My mother took me to buy some yarn for my first project, which is just a silly scarf to practice on. The colors look off in the cam, but its a really nice teal, rich red and an off white.

I gotta wait till my needle package comes in the mail before I start though =/

I've been going fucking CRAFT CRAZY! Looking at tons of knitting websites as well as some sewing ones. After I master knitting I might take up sewing for clothing design. I listed some of the sites I really like on the left.

And if you haven't, go check out Twinkie Chan's crocheted scarves. They have got to be the CUTEST things ever.
